The Client

The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. The Need

World Bank's publication house is responsible for publishing a large number of books, reports and research papers each year. It also owns a huge collection of published data with thousands of books, documents, including operational documents (project documents, analytical and advisory work, and evaluations), formal and informal research papers, and many other publications. Apart from this, Bank's archives contain a vast collection of official records of its work from 1946 to the present, including country files, project files, correspondence, film, videos and photos.

With so much existing data and new additions with each surpassing day takes no less than a herculean effort to handle it. The client was looking for a customized e-commerce solution that would enable its customers to:

• search and browse books by title, author, ISBN and SKU,
• use shopping cart,
• view list of bestseller books,
• create profile and/or log in,
• view account details,
• add attributes to a particular product, and
• rate/review products.

The Solution

The idea was to deliver an e-commerce solution having neat and clean design with meticulous functionality. The final product was in accordance with the client's requirements and had the following features:
